It is with deep sadness that I have to announce that the Master of Masters, the founder and architect of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Grandmaster Helio Gracie has passed. The Grandmaster is survived by his wife Vera, sons Rorion, Relson, Rickson, Rolker, Royler, Royce and Robin and daughters Rherika and Ricci his grandchildren and the Gracie family and a family of disciples all practitioners of the art he loved .

Grandmaster Gracie was the main teacher of Master Pedro Sauer, the teacher of Professor Quint. We here at Gracie China want to express our heart-felt sympathy to the Gracie family and to all the disciples of Grandmaster Helio.

Grand Master Helio Gracie (October 1, 1913 – January 29, 2009)
